Changing format for 2013
After 5 years as Houston's first and only specialty electric car dealership, dealing many brands of electric cars and cars converted to all-electric, Houston Electric Cars will change our format. Not enough Houstonians have been sufficiently interested to keep the doors open as a full auto dealer, meeting all legal requirements for a true dealership. So we will allow the dealership license to expire in July 2013, but our little corporation will continue to offer contract conversions, and will seek to sell small electric cars on a one-at-a-time basis. This past year has been our lowest sales year so far, even though the Texans are buying record numbers of giant pickup trucks and SUVs (and small guzzlers too). So far, Texans / Houstonians have generally in big-picture, not been oriented to wanting to stop polluting, or wanting to save money on <no> gas, or caring about the USA's oil import bill. So it has essentially seemed hopeless here at HECC to carry on a dealership. However, for those occasional people who actually want to experience a little of the future now, we have decided to keep doing/ offering the basic mission but on a stripped down scale. At this writing (March 2013), we presently have remaining just 5 electric cars to sell. E-Cars for any budget
don't ever believe you must spend big bucks to get an electric car. We sell them from as low as $3,500, many are below $10k, and on upward, and there are many different names, brands, body styles, battery types etc. The Leaf and Tesla are great, but definitely not the first on the block.
Range is from battery choice, not the e-car ! and we offer many choices of battery.
At Houston Electric Cars, you can buy any of our e-car makes with the Battery Type of your choosing, with complete transparent knowledge of the battery vendor prices. We are not trying to make money on batteries or components. In other words, you select the e-car, and you also can select the desired range / batteries to be included-- choose the very cheap 30 mile lead acid pack, the modest price 60 mile lithium pack, or the deluxe 110 mile lithium pack. Call or email for quotes today. So far, all of our highway speed legal e-cars even with highest specification 100 mile range lithium battery packs are priced in the $$ teens ! That is right, e-cars with the range of the Leaf, for as low as under $10k !! There is much blarney in the market today about e-car batteries, get the real info from Houston Electric Cars. All of our battery information is backed up by actual vendors with warrantees and publicly posted prices and performance curves.

Houston Electric Cars now sells a big variety of all-electric cars, as well as offering conversion services for all-electric, AND hybrid to plug-in hybrid (PHEV) ! We have highway speed e-cars (used), and citicars, new and used (45 mph zone max). Price range for our e-cars is presently discounted, from $3500, to low teens even with lithium batteries. Ask about further discount opportunities. You read it correct, prices $3.5k to $ low thousands for electrics, including our highway speed e-cars. With lithiums, generally $7,000 to low $ teens.
Lines we can sell include highway and non-highway. Non highway include (1) the "Coco"-- looks similar to the other Smart car, but this one is even "smarter" --all-electric, with air conditioning, (2) the Zap, the quirky 3 wheeled electric car and truck offering solar panel roofs, that has still been sold more than any other e-vehicle in the world, with around 120,000 sold, and (3) we still make a market in Zenns-- no longer making new cars, but a Zenn is forever, like beach front property, there are a limited number of them around !
We also offer used converted electric cars as they may be available. Difficult, because people who have them love their e-cars, never let them go. And they last forever !

Get a low cost regular car which we will convert for you into all-electric re-chargeable plug-in, and goes at highway speed, is safe, and legal. We have some ready to sell, shown is a red 1993 Mazda Miata convertible! Hot damn! And the US government gives a federal tax credit for buyers/ users of e-car conversions too ! We can convert your gas guzzler car for a fee, OR buy and convert for you a basic highway speed car for a really low price. Why wait for the giant car companies to finally bring some electric cars for a huge price when you can do this? Of course the price range is significant, depending on the range you require, and the weight of the car you select.
